One-day excursion to Meteora

They have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the wider area is part of the European ecological network NATURA 2000, due its rare flora and fauna. It is a magnificent geological formation of many rocks, situated near the small town of Kalambaka, in Thessaly. Monasteries where monks have been living as hermits for more than 600 years stand on the peaks of these rocks. The monasteries are decorated with icons that are true masterpieces, and other artefacts of Byzantine art. The view from the top of the rocks is simply breathtaking. Timetable

06.00 Departure by bus from Pefkochori to the Kalambaka. Boarding of clients from various points of Cassandra / Sithonia.

08.30 Stop at OLYMPUS PLAZA, in Korinos and free time of about 20’

11.30 Arrival at Meteora and visit to two monasteries.

14.00 Stop in Kalambaka for lunch.

15.30 Departure for Chalkidiki and arrival at around 20.30
